Hello.  My name is Tyra Hobson and I am the Instructional Technology Coordinator at Dequeen-Mena ESC.  The purpose of this site is to share information about resources that teachers can use in their classrooms. I believe that when used correctly, technology has the power to improve student engagement and student achievement.  Technology gives teachers the ability to form powerful, global, professional learning communities. I assist in professional development relating to technology fields.  I also assist local schools with technology needs to prepare our students for productive careers in college and the workforce, they must be proficient in technology.  If you are interested in having me conduct a workshop for your school, please contact me.

I have a background with more than 15 years in education beginning with elementary, moving to middle school EAST, and then moving to high school EAST.  EAST provided me the opportunity to combine cutting edge technologies with education and curriculum.  I currently have my dream job as Instructional Specialist here at the DeQueen-Mena ESC. My passion for wanting to help teachers integrate technology into their classrooms was the driving force behind why I chose to seek out and obtain my Master degree in Curriculum and Instruction. The literacy and application of technology in the classroom is essential to preparing our students for their future college and career endeavors.  I am self-motivated and passionate about helping teachers create a classroom environment that fosters this type of culture.
