Hi, everyone! My name is Kim Brown. I am honored to serve as your De-Queen Mena Education Service Cooperative literacy spcialist, K-12, focusing on K-6, as well as the Dyslexia Contact Specialist. I have worked in education for 30 + years. My education experience includes K-6 classroom teaching positions, literacy coaching, and serving as instructional facilitator for teachers in all content areas. I have also served in the Ashdown School District's central office as the federal funds co-coordinator, curriculum and instruction coordinator K-5, SES coordinator, and person responsible for wearing any other "hats" that were necessary! Before coming to De-Queen Mena Service Cooperative, I served Southwest Arkansas schools as Teacher Center Coordinator for Southwest Arkansas Education Cooperative.
I live in Ashdown, Arkansas. I have 2 children who have blessed me with 3 beautiful granddaughters! Away from work I enjoy spending time with family, playing a little golf, and calling the Hogs!!!
I am excited to work with other educators in Southwest Arkansas as we provide support and leadership for all our teachers in DMESC schools. Improving education for all students in our state is an exciting and rewarding opportunity!
